Question: I have had two babies and I can't seem to get the last 10 pounds off. I work out 3
times a week and try to eat as healthy as I can but can never really stick to a
diet. What can I do to loose these last 10 pounds? Amanda,
Louisville, KY
Answer: Am I going senile? I think you answered
your own question. Or maybe I should coddle you and tell you don’t worry
everything will be all right like Richard Simmons did for all those years and
watched the fat women get fatter. I get questions like this all the time. If
you are “working out” 3 days a week and eating healthy you should and will lose
fat. It’s obvious to me that you making friggin’ excuses and you’re really not
doing those things or you would not be writing in to me. Eating healthy means
keeping your portions down to a reasonable size. Biggie sizing even healthy
food can cause fat gain. “I know Rocco, but I’m hungry (whining)” and
I say (in the same voice) I know and you’re still FAT”. Your portions should
not be larger than the top of your hand when you make a fist (and don’t extend
the top of your hand over your watch, because that, for the idiots out there, is
your arm). If you notice not everyone has the same size hand. And wouldn’t you
know that’s because not everyone is supposed to have the same portions.
Friggin’ brilliant!
Now, let’s look at the exercise portion of your
question, or not, because you aren’t. The intensity of your exercise is not
what it should be. Just because you sweat at the gym does not mean you’re
exercising. They could have just forgot to turn on the air conditioning and
you’ll sweat like a pig and not see one ounce come of your chubby little body.
Here’s the problem, too many people go to the gym and they think that’s all it
takes. That’s simply not true. You need to actually do some work there, if
you’re going to accomplish anything. Try going to your job and play solitaire on
your computer all day and see if you don’t get fired, if you don’t, you have an
idiot for a boss. Just think of these last ten pounds as your body firing you.
Stop playing solitaire with your body and do some work. If you don’t know how
to work harder at exercise than e-mail me and place “Boot Camp Workout” in the
subject line and I’ll show you how. Then if you still have the 10 pounds on you
then I’m the idiot. Deal or no deal?
